FAQS
Frequently Asked Questions
- Where are you located?
-
Barrington Boudoir/Angel Kruzel Photography Studio is located in downtown Barrington inside the Barrington Commons shopping complex. Angel is also available for destination sessions. For information on destination session please contact us.
- Where are the photo shoots done?
-
Most of our photo shoots are done in our spacious and private photo studio in downtown Barrington, IL. However, upon client request, we have used luxury hotel suites for our stylish shoots.
- How many people will be present for my shoot?
-
Your privacy is always respected before, during and after your boudoir or glamour shoot. The only people on set are Angel, your HMUA team and a photography assistant. During your session, only Angel and a photography assistant are present.
This is your time to shine, and we don’t want anything or anyone interfering with that! We know that sometimes extra eyes can make you feel a bit self conscious, so we limit that for your comfort level. This also applies to anyone you might consider bringing to your session. The only people we allow on set are people in the photoshoot.
- Can I bring a friend to my shoot?
-
Yes, but only if you have both scheduled a shoot. While bringing a friend might sound like a good idea, it usually makes the subject (you) more self conscious, unless the friend is doing a photo session as well!
- How much does this cost?
-
Our rates are available to all who inquire. Please call or email us, and we will be happy to go over any questions that you have.
- Do you ever offer specials for sessions?
-
We do occasionally! Sign up for our newsletter so you are the first to know of upcoming studio events and specials!
- What is the difference between a glamour session and a boudoir shoot?
-
The main difference is your wardrobe you wear during the session. A glamour portrait session showcases your beauty and usually has the subject dressed in gorgeous outfits, think dresses (from casual to formal), pretty slips, etc. A boudoir session is more lingerie and/or implied nudity. Both glamour and boudoir sessions are very empowering for the woman being photographed, but boudoir sessions are often gifted to your partner (as a wedding, anniversary, Valentine's Day, birthday, etc). Both beauty and boudoir sessions show you at your very best.
- Will my privacy be respected? I would love to do a sexy boudoir shoot but I do not want my face to be displayed on your web site.
-
Of course! We want you to be comfortable and your privacy is held in the highest regard! Angel Kruzel Photography Studio/Barrington Boudoir owns the copyright to all of the images Angel shoots (this is non-negotiable). However, we respect our client's privacy and for boudoir sessions, you decide whether your images remain completely private or if they can be used in Angel’s portfolio of work either in an anonymous style image only or in their entirety. We go over these options when you sign your contract and model release form.
- Is it normal to be nervous?
-
Yes, most clients are a little nervous leading up to their session, especially if they have never done a boudoir photo shoot before. This is perfectly normal! When you get to the studio, your nerves will calm as you spend time being pampered by our licensed hair and makeup team. During your shoot Angel will spend time making sure you feel at ease, and will coach and direct you so you don't have to worry about a single thing!
- I don’t know how to pose. How will I know what to do?
-
We know modeling in front of a camera is new for most of our clients and you might be nervous. Don't worry, we are highly skilled at directing you how to pose so you look your best! Rest assured, Angel will be there to guide and coach you throughout the entire shoot. Our goal by the end of your shoot is for you to feel sexy & empowered, with gorgeous images of yourself to show it!
- Can I do my own hair and/or makeup?
-
Having your hair and makeup professionally done is essential to your shoot & a complimentary part of your session. Our licensed hair and makeup artists are trained in applying makeup specifically for photography. There are many makeup products that do not photograph well, and our team knows how to make you look and feel your best for your photoshoot. You would never, ever see a model or actress enter a photo shoot without being made up by a makeup artist and hair stylist. We want you to enjoy the experience of having our team cater and pamper you while making you look and feel gorgeous so you are confidant and rock your shoot!
- How should I prepare for my session?
-
Preparing before your session will help ensure you are ready and we capture the images that you are going to love! Weeks before your shoot we go over with you our suggestions on how best to prepare and be ready for your photo shoot as well as wardrobe and styling choices. We definitely recommend our clients tend to their nails with a mani-pedi, and can give you recommendations if needed. We also suggest you touch up any hair root growth, as your roots will be visible in some images. If waxing, doing so a few days before your session is ideal. We can give you trusted recommendations for all of these services!
- Do you provide outfits for my photo session?
-
Our studio has an ever growing wardrobe closet filled with beautiful and unique wardrobe pieces & accessories that our clients can utilize for their sessions. However, for boudoir, we do not provide lingerie due to the intimate and sanitary nature of lingerie. We are happy to help our clients select outfits that work well and can offer suggestions on where to buy lingerie pieces, from couture and custom pieces to off-the-rack sources.
